Friday 24 October 2008, saw the Mr Body Beautiful 2008 Competition at
The Copa Showbar on Boyz Town,
where 18 young men displayed their bodies to help raise over 44,000 Baht for PGF Charities.

The Copa was packed to capacity with many people having to stand to
watch the contestants "strut their stuff" to try and win one of the four prizes on offer.

As well as a trophy the contestants could win:
1st Prize: 8,000 baht sponsored by Boyz Boyz Boyz
2nd Prize: 5,000 baht sponsored by Panorama
3rd Prize: 3,000 baht sponsored by The Copa Showbar.

Also there was a prize of 5,000 Baht (sponsored by Le Café Royale) for Mr Popular picked by the audience.

The contestants were judged by: Khun Golf of A Bomb, Graham from Uniform Bar in Sunee Plaza and
Eugene Gallagher from the Tree of Life Organisation in Ireland.

After the winners received their trophies Eugene presented the PGF with a cheque for 10,000 baht.

2008 Teddy Bear and Rice Appeal

This is just a few of the donations received at Oscars so far and
special thanks must go to John.

Following the success of the 2007 Teddy Bear appeal when over 500 Teddy Bears were generously given and donated to local Orphanages we once again launch this Appeal, now named the 2008 Teddy Bear and Rice Appeal.
Rice, a staple part of the diet here, has doubled in price over the last few months causing hardship to many and it seems appropriate to add this.

Donations of Bears ( small and medium size please ) , bags of Rice and cash will be welcomed at the participating venues of Oscars Bar and Panorama Pub on Boyz Town, Thais4Life Bookshop on Soi Yensabai Pattaya and once again at Balcony Pub and Restaurant, Silom Soi 4, Bangkok . If giving cash for Rice please give your name or a pseudonym and an official receipt will be given and Thais4Life will account for and publish the name and the donation on their web site.

The appeal will finish on Thursday December 18th and culminate in a Teddy Bears Picnic on the afternoon of that day when the Bears will ' meet the press ' before being distributed to there new homes in time for Christmas. In attendance will be ' Oscar ' the Thais4Life Teddy Bear, regularly featured on the Weekly report, who has been cruising round the World most of this year courtesy of our friend Robin and will hopefully become the most travelled Bear having completed over 100,000 Nautical Miles. Oscar, returning to Pattaya in December, together with a log of his travels will be auctioned at a Charity Event, date to be announced.

Also at this event a Prize of a Litre Of Black Label donated by Oscars Bar will be given to the donated Bear which has travelled the most to get here. Last year the winning Bear travelled from The Falkland Islands and was sponsored by Stuart of Balcony Bangkok.

Passion Patrol goes on to say that they plan to re-open on November 1 as an open air host bar
and are remodeling the lower floor and outside to create a more "cafe" feel, but the bar is still for sale.

Pattaya Players: Halloween

Pattaya Players (home of Pattaya's Professional Amateurs) is proud to announce its first annual Halloween Haunted Ghost Tour entitled, "Path Of Phantoms, Poltergeists and Pagans" on Friday, October 31, 2008.

This chillingly haunting script was written by local Pattaya resident, Christopher Parsons who will also direct the production. The "Path Of Phantoms, Poltergeists and Pagans" takes unsuspecting spectators on a 40 minute guided walking tour of Horseshoe Point's breathtaking Three Kingdoms Park, highlighting ghost stories of Thailand's historical past. At each stop, the macabre Tour Guides will retell the legends of ghostly visitations and other scary tales of infamous poltergeists and haunted happenings, while the Pattaya Players troupe members portray the sinister spectres!

In addition to the Ghost Tour, there will be many activities, rides and games for children of all ages to enjoy! If being scared is not your thing, come and enjoy a myriad of traditional Halloween games and fun carnival rides! There will be Pony Rides, Aqua Bubbles, A Jumpy Castle and Bobbing For Apples among many, many others! In addition, fair-style food and drinks will be on sale all night long courtesy of Horseshoe Point's delectable catering services!

Experience the thrills that are sure to come during this exclusive one night only event. Taking place from 6:00 PM onwards, tickets will be sold at the event (on the night of) only. The admission price will be 200 Baht per person and will come with 10 complimentary tickets. Each attraction, game and ride will require a set amount of tickets, depending on the activity. The tour itself will require the entire 10 tickets. Additional tickets will also be available for purchase in multiple packs -- with greater discounts being offered on larger "family fun packs.". A Thanksgiving Feast (not necessarily like the one at White Night)

The White Night Restaurant in Soi VC would like to inform you that they we will be having a special Thanksgiving Dinner on Thursday 27th November at 7.30 for 8 pm.

With this being the first of many special nights, Mike and the team will be "pulling out all the stops" to make this dinner really special for you.

Here are the details, which may be subject to variation.

From 7.30pm. Complimentary welcome drinks.

8.0pm. Everyone who books will be sat at the long "Family" tables inside in the air conditioned dining room or out on the Soi side terrace. The Buffet will be served in terrines and on platters so that you can help yourself to whatever you like without having to leave the table, making the whole evening very easy and sociable.

Roast Pumpkin Soup, Asparagus Soup.

The very popular Friday and Saturday night shows in Silom Soi 4
featuring the Dream Girls and other guest performers certainly bring in the crowds.

Last weekend, they had a guest comic and magician as a ‘warm-up’ act then went on to
perform in truly professional style in the middle of the Soi
despite a passing thunderstorm.

And finally . . .

The Funeral

A man was leaving a cafe with his morning coffee when he noticed a most unusual funeral procession approaching the nearby cemetery. A long black hearse was followed by a second long black hearse about 50 feet behind the first.

Behind the second hearse was a solitary man walking a pit-bull on a leash.

Behind him was a queue of 200 men walking in single file.

The man couldn't stand the curiosity. He respectfully approached the
man walking the dog.

'I am so sorry for your loss, and I know now is a bad time to disturb you, but I've never seen a funeral like this with so many of you walking in single file. Whose funeral is it?'

The man replied, Well, the first hearse is for my wife.'

'What happened to her?'

The man replied 'My dog attacked and killed her.'

He inquired further, 'Well, who is in the second hearse?'

The man answered 'My mother-in-law. She was trying to help my wife
when the dog turned on her.'

A poignant and thoughtful moment of silence passes between the two men.

'Can I borrow the dog?'

'Join the queue'

The Facelift

A woman decides to have a facelift for her 50th birthday.

She spends $15,000 and feels pretty good about the results.

On her way home, she stops at a newsstand to buy a newspaper.
Before leaving, she says to the clerk, 'I hope you don't mind my asking, but how old do you think I am?'

'About 32,' is the reply.'

'Nope! I'm exactly 50,' the woman says happily.

A little while later she goes into McDonald's and asks the counter girl the very same question.

The girl replies, 'I'd guess about 29.'

The woman replies with a big smile, 'Nope, I'm 50.'

Now she's feeling really good about herself. She stops in a drug store on her way down the street.
She goes up to the counter to get some mints and asks the clerk this burning question.

The clerk responds, 'Oh, I'd say 30.'

Again she proudly responds, 'I'm 50, but thank you!'

While waiting for the bus to go home, she asks an old man waiting next to her the same question.

He replies, 'Lady, I'm 78 and my eyesight is going. Although, when I was young there was a sure-fire way to tell how old a woman was.
It sounds very forward, but it requires you to let me put my hands under your bra. Then, and only then can I tell you EXACTLY how old you are.'

They wait in silence on the empty street until her curiosity gets the best of her. She finally blurts out, 'What the hell, go ahead.'

He slips both of his hands under her blouse and begins to feel around very slowly and carefully. He bounces and weighs each breast and he gently pinches each nipple. He pushes her breasts together and rubs them against each other.

After a couple of minutes of this, she says, 'Okay, okay....How old am I?'

He completes one last squeeze of her breasts, removes his hands, and says, 'Madam, you are 50.'

Stunned and amazed, the woman says, 'That was incredible, how could you tell?'

The old man says, 'Promise you won't get mad?'

'I promise I won't' she says.

'I was behind you at McDonalds.'
